NCCAP Pre-approval Process Update
While
NCCAP pre-approval continues to NOT be mandatory (except for
instructors of the 90 hour MEPAP courses) it does continue to
be a process that providers of continuing education utilize
for the benefit of the activity professionals that attend, to
ensure that the educational offering meets the NCCAP standards.
NCCAP
recommends that the application be submitted 90 days prior to
the event (to allow time for the reviewing of the application,
time for processing, mailing etc). This should get the pre-approval
number to the applicant in plenty of time to add it to the event’s
publicity tool.
At
the 2001 Fall Board of Directors meeting, the NCCAP Board approved
increased fees, as well as implementation of a $50.00 “fast
track” fee for ALL pre-approvals that are received less
than 30 days before the date of the educational offering.
**While
this has been added to the pre-approval form, several providers
of continuing education, continue to send in the old fees, no
fast track fee, and so forth. PLEASE note this change for future
offerings, and make certain to use the CURRENT application form.
This can be found on the NCCAP website or contact the NCCAP
office.
(Note:
with every pre-approval number granted, a NEW application is
included in the approval letter.) NN
