NCCAP Website

Kathy Hughes
ADC, COTA, NCCAP Vice President

The NCCAP website has everything that you could need as a certified activity professional. We hope that you take some time to look around the site and see what tools NCCAP has made available to you. Not only is the entire NCCAP Standards packet, application, and renewal form available, but we also have a sample certificate of attendance and all of the NCCAP NEWS articles from previous newsletters archived for you to review and to use in your state association newsletters. We encourage activity professionals and other organizations to download and use our information for classes, conferences, and association meetings. NCCAP also invites you to copy off the information about advertising in the NCCAP NEWS as well.

The NCCAP Bulletin Board is available for interaction as well as education. There are many postings concerning a variety of ways to obtain continuing education both on the Internet and in your community. We encourage all organizations to post their pre-approved workshops, seminars and conferences on the bulletin board. We also encourage NCCAP pre-approved instructors to post their upcoming MEPAP courses so that anyone can access times, dates, and contacts for you and fellow activity professionals wanting to become NCCAP certified. There are several discussions currently taking place concerning salaries, job opportunities and programming information. We encourage all activity professionals to post questions and concerns about the activity profession. Our NCCAP Board members offer advice and frequently post answers to your questions. We are the only national association that has Board members frequently interacting with activity professionals of all levels.

In addition to the bulletin board, NCCAP schedules chats in our chat rooms to interact with other activity professionals. We schedule times day and night to answer your certification questions in real time. The schedule is posted on the NCCAP Bulletin Board ahead of time so that you can arrange to join us. Everyone is invited to use the chat room, but it is for activity professionals and not for the general public. Other activity professional groups can also schedule times (email info@nccap.org to schedule this) to hold an online meeting or to exchange ideas. We do not monitor the chat room daily, so any questions that you post might not be answered. We encourage you to use the Bulletin Board for posting questions or concerns as the NCCAP chat room is for real time chatting and not for posting messages. The NCCAP Board is doing its best to schedule more times and opportunities for you to chat with them directly. However, remember that they are activity professionals themselves and have limited time to schedule. Please check the NCCAP Bulletin Board or chat page for times. Your state or local association or class is welcome to schedule a chat as well.

Those organizations wanting NCCAP pre-approval can find the application form on our website as well. We encourage all those having continuing education programs to obtain
NCCAP pre-approval. The application form can be printed right off the site and is easy to use. We also have a sample certificate of attendance that can guide you in what to include on your certificate for your continuing education program. You can also use our sample certificate for in-services at your facility and for continuing education programs that you attend in your community.

The NCCAP Standards Packet makes up the bulk of the NCCAP.ORG website. The guided tour and various links on our homepage can connect you to all of the current NCCAP certification processes.

We also link you to CMS Web casts that NCCAP pre-approved for activity professionals. We strive to assure activity professionals of all levels to keep up with the latest trends in regulatory compliance and are proud to offer continuing education opportunities nationwide via these informative CMS Web casts.

Finally you can link to NAAP (National Association of Activity Professionals) through the NCCAP Bulletin Board. Accessing the NAAP website will allow you to plan for their annual conference and give you additional information concerning the activity profession. We are in the process of linking state association websites on the NCCAP site, as well as other activity professional organizations, so that all the tools are available to you the NCCAP member and to those individuals in the activities profession. So schedule some time on the Internet. NCCAP encourages you to use the most powerful activity tool available to you—any time of the day or night. We look forward to seeing you. NN
