A Note from the Recertification Review
Committee
Renewing your certification
is just as important as your initial certification
by John
Collins, ACC
NCCAP Vice President
Each certified activity professional must
complete a renewal every two years with the required
number of continuing education hours (assistants, 20
hours; directors, 30 hours; consultants, 40 hours).
The hours should fall under the NCCAP Body of Knowledge.
If there is question as to whether the seminar or course
that you are considering is applicable, thoroughly review
the Body of Knowledge and then submit a written statement
as to how this seminar/course will enhance your performance
as a certified activity professional.
Volunteer committee members around the country
review renewals and each reviewer has been trained by
NCCAP Standards, however, there is some area of uncertainty.
If you provide additional documentation that would justify
how this seminar/course will enhance your performance
as an activity professional then the reviewer would
have that added input when approving or denying those
hours. The Recertification Review Committee is in need
of additional volunteers to review recertifications,
if you are interested, please contact John Collins,
NCCAP Vice President. NN
