Best
Hello
activity professionals. My name is Nancy Best, or to
my friends, Pance. I was born and raised in Greenville,
Pennsylvania, a small town in the western part of the
commonwealth. Besides my mom's dad, I have an older
sister who of course did not want her younger sister
hanging out with her and her friends. Consequently,
I hung out with the only other kids in the "hood",
the boys. We played sports of all sorts. Football became
my passion, hence western Pennsylvania, a huge Steelers
fan. With my interest in sports, I majored in Recreation
Parks at West Virginia University, college team of course.
Go Mountaineers! After graduation I moved and held jobs
outside of my major. I had to move back to Greenville
in 1975.
July
of 1976 I got my dream job, Activity Director in a nursing
home. Where else could you work, ride roller coasters,
fish, fly an airplane, or go boating; get paid for it
and make people happy.
Presently
I have my own home health care service. I serve on the
board and I am a state representative for NCCAP.
