NCCAP Membership on the Upswing Again

The current membership as of June 1, 1999 shows that we now have 6,419 certified individuals throughout the United States. This number is up from last year at this time. In addition there are approximately 165 more individuals that are currently in the process of becoming certified!

This reiterates the continued need for national certification. As we continue to move forward as a profession, NCCAP will also continue to progress. With the assistance of our NCCAP representatives we are in the process of compiling the regulations for each individual state. This will assist us in determining which states need support to have NCCAP certification implemented/ listed as a qualifier to be an Activity Professional. Several states already recognize NCCAP certification in their regulations, our goal will be to address those states where it is not currently listed. NN

NCCAP Adopts Mission Statement

At the Spring 1999 meeting of the NCCAP Board of Directors, the following mission statement was adopted:

“The National Certification Council for Activity Professionals is a credentialing body, which sets standards and criteria to ensure that those we serve have optimal life experiences.” NN
