Y2K: Planning for
the Millenniumby
Debbie Wilkinson, ACC
Nominations Chair, NCCAP
Are you preparing for
the Millenium? This question should
be taken seriously as the new year 2000
AD (Y2K) approaches.
The impact of the computer
programming glitch is not limited just to
information technology, but also to human
life. Is the company you work for
preparing for this?
Health care organizations
could be victims of potential area-wide
or state-wide disasters, similar to those
caused by power failures.
What can you do? Ask your
administrator for for your
facilitys Y2K disaster plan and
become familiar with it.
Prepare for Y2K in your job
and home. Have hard copies of all
documentation from the last 3 - 6 months.
This should include medical and financial
information. At work, what would happen
if all your documentation vanished? Make
life simpler for yourself and start now
by being ready as soon as you can. NN
