Our NCCAP Electorate Has Spoken

With
two thousand three hundred and forty four votes cast,
the NCCAP membership has re-elected two current members
of their Board of Directors to serve additional terms.
Both Michael Bower and John Collins were re-elected
to their seats on the NCCAP Board in the current election.
Michael
Bower, ACC, is an Activity Director who heads a fourteen
member department for a skilled nursing facility which
includes a dementia unit in Des Moines, Washington.
She is also an independent consultant and teaches the
basic and advanced Modular Education Program for Activity
Professionals. Additionally, she is a member of the
Advisory Board for Highline Community College Gerontology/Human
Services track, is on the Board of Trustees for Washington
State Association of Self Help for Hard of hearing People,
and is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America-Green
River Chapter #690. She is also Vice President and State
Board member of the Mount Rainier Chapter of WSAAP,
past Resource Review Chair of NAAP, and a member of
the WWU Alumni Club. Michael is currently serving as
Secretary for the NCCAP Board.
John
Collins, ACC, CTRS, is a consultant and educator for
Activity professionals as Director of Collins Healthcare,
Inc. in Orlando, Florida. He teaches the basic and advanced
MEPAP courses. He also leads seminars, provides consultation
to facilities, and serves as keynote speaker and educator
at conventions. He is a volunteer speaker in the district
organizations, is the current FHCACA District President,
and former district Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
For the State of Florida, he is former Education and
Membership Chair, and is currently serving as the Treasurer
for the NCCAP Board.
Congratulations
to both Michael Bower and John Collins. We look forward
to their continued professional service to the NCCAP
Board and our membership. We also wish to extend our
thanks to the candidates who participated in the election,
and we encourage them as well as all the members of
NCCAP to involve themselves in the Committees and with
the work of the Board. Volunteers are needed to serve
as State Representatives and on the NCCAP Committees.

election in the coming year.
