The National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) is encouraging certified activity professionals to apply to the scholarship committee for the Beverly Morris Scholarship, which was developed in honor of the first certified activity professional in New York. This scholarship will provide funds to assist with registration costs for a certified activity professional to attend a conference/convention, seminar/work-shop, or course related to the activity profession. Certified members who are interested in applying for this scholarship should submit the following information to the NCCAP Scholarship Committee sixty (60) days before the educational program will take place: name, certification level, mailing address, telephone number, place of employment, brochure for the educational program which includes registration amount, and two letters of reference regarding personal commitment to being a certified activity professional. The recipient of the scholarship will be asked to write an article for the next issue of the NCCAP News, address-ing how this educational program will be of help.

Two Madge Schweinberg Scholarships for $500 each are presented annually by both NCCAP and NAAP. Madge Schweinberg was a pioneer in the development of certification for the activity professional and the original Certification Chairperson of NAAP. Professionals interested in applying for this scholarship should contact the NAAP office at (865) 429-0717 for application information. NN
