NCCAP
Attends Various Activity Conferences Across the United
States in 2002
In
September 2002, MACS (the Maryland Activity Association), at
the direction of their President, Elaine Kielman, ADC, held
their "25 Years of Excellence" Conference. Various
educational workshops were offered, and Yvonne Eyler, NHA at
the Coffman Nursing Home, was honored for her contributions
to and support of the activity profession. In November 2002,
APAGD, one of the Texas activity associations, held an all-day
activity seminar in Dallas, Texas with the assistance of Natalie
Davis, ACC, and Roxanne Carder, ADC. This conference was well
attended. Emphasis was on professionalism and the need for support
through collaborative efforts of activity personnel. Arizona
also held their annual convention in Laughlin, Nevada. Shirley
Peotter, ACC, and other board members organized many good educational
offerings to promote the profession. These are just a few of
the many beneficial programs being offered across the United
States to further the activity profession and strengthen the
knowledge base of the individuals who work in our field. Opportunities
like these allow NCCAP to promote the need for qualified, credentialed
individuals to facilitate the quality of life for our nation's
seniors. If you are interested in having NCCAP represented at
your state conference, contact Cindy Bradshaw, ACC/NCCAP Executive
Director. NN
