Your
NCCAP Website
We
have placed all sorts of interesting information on
the NCCAP website for you to use and pass on to other
activity professionals. In keeping with a suggestion
made at a NCCAP meeting several years ago we have placed
all of our forms, standards, and application on the
site for you to print off at your convenience. The suggestion
was to have this information available electronically
to save some money and cut down on paper consumption.
Currently having the information at your fingertips
electronically has proven to save valuable resources.
We are still considering an electronic newsletter, but
have many roadblocks to overcome. We do post our newsletter
on the website after our members have received it. This
service allows all of members and potential members
to read about all that NCCAP is doing for the activities
profession. It shares information about upcoming training
sessions for the MEPAP courses and any changes that
might be of interest to our members.
We
also have a complete list of MEPAP Instructors, NCCAP
State Reps and NCCAP Pre-approval forms for everyone
to take advantage of. Here is a hint; you might want
to contact a NCCAP State Rep to get information about
upcoming state conferences. We recently added all of
the State Association website links to our NCCAP State
Rep listing. So you now have another electronic tool
to assist you. If your state website is not listed,
please e-mail the link to us at info@nccap.org. Recently
an individual wanted information about a "district"
or "local" association. We can only list state
associations, and would encourage you to contact the
NCCAP State Rep for that information.
Another
tool that is available at www.nccap.org and no where
else on the Internet is the ability to earn clock hours
for your NCCAP certification. This opportunity benefits
our scholarship fund, offers at least two hours a week
for NCCAP members to share information, learn about
NCCAP certification and the NCCAP Standards, and to
be in a chat room that is monitored by activity professionals
for activity professionals. This is not your kids chat
room! It is for activity professionals only and monitored
every time we are there! Check the "NCCAP Chat"
postings for times and schedules. We post weekly the
topics and the times for our chat.
The
NCCAP Bulletin Board is accessed over 500 times a day.
Individuals looking for continuing education, upcoming
MEPAP courses, jobs, program exchanges, and updates
for the activities professional are all available. MEPAP
course instructors can post their upcoming sessions
for potential students. State Associations and those
who have their continuing education programs NCCAP pre-approved
can also post on the NCCAP Bulletin Board. You have
the opportunity to advertise, for free, to over 500
people a day! State Conferences, individuals sponsoring
workshops, companies that sponsor education can all
post for free on the NCCAP Bulletin Board. Please plan
on visiting the NCCAP Bulletin Board sometime soon.
We also have a free job listing area for companies and
facilities looking for NCCAP members.
Make
plans this week to visit the www.nccap.org website and
take a tour! You will find everything that you need
for NCCAP certification information and tools to assist
you in doing your job. We also have the NCCAP renewal
form in case you need one along with a sample certificate
for you to use in case you find yourself at an educational
session and need one.
