State
Challenge Results
The
state challenge initiated by NCCAP and COAP-NC, began
in June 2005, and ran through the end of 12/2006.
The
intent was to stimulate interest among the different
states to begin to actually, aggressively assist their
members in obtaining their goals of becoming nationally
certified with NCCAP.
On
behalf of COAP-NC, Kathy Wright Moore, who herself became
certified during this time frame, offered to split the
$500.00 award/prize money with NCCAP to be awarded to
the association with the "highest percentage"
of newly certified individuals. 2nd and 3rd place received
recognition at the opening of the NAAP 2007 conference
in Columbus, OH, recognition in both the NCCAP newsletter
and on the NCCAP website, space for them to highlight
their association in an upcoming newsletter, and one
free pre-approval for their upcoming state association
conference.
The
results were determined by the Appeals Committee members
who assisted with the determination of the percentages
as follows:
*
KADA the Kansas Association of Activity Directors had
a 200% growth
*
COAP-NC, Coalition of Activity Professionals in North
Carolina had a 99.4% growth
*
RAP - the Resident Activity Personnel of Ohio had a
41% growth
Several
states had between 15.5% - 32% growth during the same
time frame.
The
instructor challenge was to be awarded to the instructor
who assisted the most individuals in becoming nationally
certified with NCCAP during the same time frame. The
winning instructor received a $250.00 prize and the
2nd place instructor received a $150.00 award. Both
were recognized at the NAAP 2007 conference.
