VICE
PRESIDENT REPORT
Since
April 2004 it has been the duty of the Vice President
to review the standards, update the strategic plan,
evaluate the Executive Director's job performance, write
articles for the newsletter, review the newsletter prior
to printing, and assist the President and Executive
Director (ED) with the many issues that arose throughout
the year.
It
was my recommendation that no further changes be made
to the standards for at least a year, as there have
been several changes recently; this recommendation was
accepted by the board.
The
Strategic Plan is, by definition, always a work in progress
that gives the board and the ED the direction and guidance
that the NCCAP will need for the next 5 years. The future
report of the revised Strategic Plan will be available
later.
At
the fall 2004 board meeting the Personnel Committee
reviewed the job performance of the ED. During that
meeting tasks and goals were set for the ED. It was
determined that the ED had met and/or exceeded all goals
and completed all tasks in a timely and professional
manner, and the current contract was extended.
This
is my last Annual Meeting as an active member of the
Board of Directors of NCCAP; I will become the Immediate
Past President, acting as an advisor to the Board and
ED. It has been an honor to serve my profession and
NCCAP during the past seven years. They haven't always
been easy and the decisions haven't always been popular,
but I am proud of the gains we have made for our membership
and profession.
