The Web Works for
NCCAP.ORG

Since we started the NCCAP
website in October of 1998, we have been
amazed at the response from our members,
potential members and health care
professionals who have used NCCAP.ORG .
We have found that many people using this
site have been able to access our Board
and office much quicker and efficiently.
We encourage our members and others to
continue to use the features that we have
placed there for your use.
We have added the list of
NAAP/NCCAP Instructors for those seeking
the BEC and AMC courses in their area, we
added a bulletin board for members and
potential members to use regarding
certification and we have posted our
newsletter right onlinefor activity
professionals to see exactly what NCCAP
is all about.
We receive an average of
1,088 visitors a day at our home on the
web. Many people use the NCCAP
pre-approval information for thier
workshops and conferences, some looking
at the NCCAP Body of Knowledge and others
posting jobs, asking certification
questions and for assistance in the
activities field. The busiest time on our
site is between 7:00PM to 9:00PM between
Wednesdays and Thursdays. NCCAP members
rarely sleep, as we found that there were
people looking us up all hours of the day
and night.
NCCAP received over 500
e-mails since January 1, 2000. We attempt
to answer them in a timely manner. Many
are requests for certification packets.
There are a few things to remember when
e-mailing us. Please include your regular
address when requesting a certification
packet and application, this will speed
up our mailing process. We also have not
changed the application and therefore the
applications marked 1999 are still good
to use. If the NCCAP Standards Committee
changes the application this will not go
into effect until January of 2001. We are
also e-mailing requests for instructors
and need to know the state that you are
looking for instructors in.
We regularly receive
requests to check on members
certification status, which takes some
time to research and get back to the
people who request this service.
We now have over 7,000
members and receive requests for initial
certification packets daily. The NCCAP
Board is committed to serving our
membership as efficiently as possible and
the NCCAP website has allowed us to make
sure that you can find us whenever you
have a question. We are encouraging
activity professionals to use our website
so that our dedicated NCCAP office staff
can process your applications quicker and
more efficiently. The office has Internet
capabilities and they check the office
e-mail daily. The NCCAP Board answers the
e-mail from the website and forwards
requests daily.
We have had a request to
accept developing a website for
continuing education credit. The NCCAP
Board would like to hear from people who
have done that and what they think about
this issue. We know that we have spent
hours developing ours, but would like to
know how other NCCAP members feel about
this. Please e-mail us with your
opinions, prior to the NCCAP Borad
meeting in April at the NAAP Convention.
All NCCAP members in good standing are
invited to attend our annual business
meeting and let us know what you think
about our website! NN
