NCCAP Board of Directors
President Cindy Bradshaw opened the
meeting at 5:30 p.m. She thanked the NAAP
and introduced the members of the Board
of Directors to the audience.
Secretary’s
Report: Michael A. Bower, ACC,

from the 4/1999 Annual Meeting in the
Annual Report.
President’s
Report: Cindy Bradshaw, ACC,
NCCAP Board President: See the written
report (page 1). Cindy introduced Audrey
Sowers from the National Office and
thanked all the office staff and Board
members for the work and support
they’ve given in the last year. A
status report on the NCCAP
Administrator’s search was given and
a Call for Proposals was re-issued.
Treasurer’s
Report: Patricia Barnes, ADC,
CTRS, NCCAP Board Treasurer: See the
written report (page 6). The Fidelity
Investments have shown a healthy gain.
The Annual Audit will be held after the
tax season.
Special Projects
Report: Kathy Hughes, ADC, COTA,
NCCAP Board Member at Large: (1) The
NCCAP website, NCCAP.ORG, has had 39,937
hits as of March 2000. The BEC/AMC Course
Instructor list has been added, as well
as all the instructors that we know about
in the USA. There is a bulletin board for
questions on CEs, instructors, courses,
certification, etc. Previous newsletter
articles are on the site. 10-15 e-mails
are received daily and are answered
within 72 hours. (2) Four newsletters go
out a year and members are encouraged to
submit artcles. An advertising packet is
being prepared and will be available
soon. (3) The State NCCAP Representatives
were recognized and thanked! The State
Reps provide information about
regulations, certification, and courses
in their states. (4) We were listed in a
New York Times article as a provider of
certification on senior fitness and had a
great response! Although the information
was incorrect, it did give us exposure
and a chance to explain who we are to a
number of people.
Nominations Report:
Lenora Hughes, ACC, CTRA, NCCAP Board
Nominations Chair: (1) Thank you to
everyone who made the election a success;
there was a 10% return! Audrey, Betty and
Kathy assisted with the election. Late
ballots would not have made a difference
in the results. Pat Barnes and Kathy
Hughes were re-elected. (2) The
Nominations Committee is Linda Perry,
ACC, 2003 (West) and Janice Paldino, ACC,
2003 (East). (3) Concerns about the
election are late ballots and
misspellings. (4) Ballots will go out
earlier in 2001 to prevent late
deliveries. NN
