Volunteers, You Are Special!
First,
I send my personal thanks to all that signed up to volunteer
as NCCAP State Representatives. All the individuals
that I spoke with at the conference were very excited
about working with NCCAP and having an opportunity to
provide information to their local organizations about
certification. You are a great asset to the work of
NCCAP!
One
of the members that volunteered to be a state representative
does not reside in a state that currently has an activity
organization, but was excited about making the initial
contact with all the certified members on the state
registry to see about initiating a networking group.
If you do not have a state organization, think about
starting one! The states that still need representation
are listed below. If you are interested in working with
NCCAP in this capacity, PLEASE let the NCCAP
Office know.
By
now, those of you that did volunteer have received or
will receive your State Representative volunteer folder.
The resource materials in the folder are just samples
to assist in your endeavor to provide information to
Activity Professionals about certification. You may
obtain additional items for your speaking engagements
or local conferences by making copies from the originals
in the notebook, or by downloading them off the NCCAP
website. The artwork is for use in your organization
newsletter or other advertising done to provide information
on NCCAP certification. Please provide the office with
copies of any information you have printed, and
remember-- any correspondence must be
sent out from the NCCAP office.
The
NCCAP Board has given you your first official task as
a State Representative to assist them in their effort
of increasing state awareness on the importance of hiring
and training qualified individuals. Please read
the information in the cover letter carefully and respond
to the NCCAP office by the designated deadline. Should
you have questions concerning this request, please contact
Cindy Bradshaw, NCCAP Executive Director.
Our
NCCAP Nomination Chair is also seeking your expertise
in assisting in recruiting candidates for the upcoming
election. If you know of a certified member that is
interested in being a candidate, please contact Rand
Bass, the NCCAP Nomination Chair, Rbass@collier-lib.com.
The
following states/regions still need an NCCAP State Representative:
Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana,
Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah,
and West Virginia.
I
look forward to working with you. And again, thank you
for your support and interest in assisting NCCAP in
providing information on the importance of being qualified
Activity Professionals through certification.
Special
Project Chair, Board Member LeNora Hughes, studes@attbi.com,

for the Eastern Region is Carol Brace, hbrace@sover.com.
