NCCAP Web Updates
by Kathy
Hughes, ADC
NCCAP Vice-President
We
would like to introduce our NCCAP Chat Room to all of
our members. This chat room is our next on-line service
that we are offering to activity
professionals. We are looking forward to sponsoring
on-line chats for NCCAP members and those wanting real
time information about certification and assisting individuals
with their certification questions. We will be posting
our schedule on nccap.org, so we encourage members to
check for updates frequently.
In
the future, we will also be scheduling sessions concerning
certification for those who need continuing education
as well as sessions for MEPAP
Instructors. These sessions will assist with associations
wanting information for their conferences as well as
up to date information on the re-engineering of the
MEPAP courses. As the on-line needs of our members grow,
we are looking forward to expanding our services. Please
feel free to contact us at info@nccap.org to suggest
certification or course topics that would be most valuable
to you.
Other
features of the NCCAP website include the ability to
print off a sample certificate, NCCAP standards, application,
renewal form, and the pre-approval form for continuing
education. Other services include the NCCAP Bulletin
Board which helps to exchange information and continuing
education opportunities, a link to the National Association
for Activity Professionals (thenaap.com), as well as
the ability to view other information right on your
computer. The NCCAP Board checks NCCAP e-mail regularly
and answers questions within 48 hours. We are proud
of the ability to interact with our members on a daily
basis and to be able to supply updated information at
the click of a mouse!
We
are looking forward to offering an electronic newsletter
in the future as well as an MEPAP instructor's electronic
newsletter for those who are qualified MEPAP instructors.
Both newsletters will serve to make the activity professional
informed of new credentialing information and to provide
the highest technical support to the MEPAP community.
Many access the NCCAP website from all over the world.
We hope that they are learning about the activities
profession in North America and benefit from the information
that is available to them. We encourage provider
organizations, health departments, CMS, other health
care professional groups and potential members to access
our site. We also encourage state and local associations
to link to our site so that all activity professionals
can take advantage of educational opportunities in their
area. In addition, The NCCAP Bulletin Board is an excellent
tool to use to announce events and educational programs
so that potential members will be able to access that
information.
