Maintaining
the Credentials...
Once
an individual meets the requirements to earn a credential,
they hold those initials after their name in pride,
having earned the respect and recognition that goes
along with the title. Such as in a Ph.D., RN, etc.,
NCCAP now will have a retirement status for those individuals
no longer working in the field of activities. Based
on a recommendation from Phyl Gordon, ACC, the NCCAP
Board of Directors voted to approve a retirement status.
This would only be for those individuals that earned
the credential, but are no longer working in the field
of activities. Upon their renewal, (application, lesser
renewal fee, information update) they would also indicate
their intent in writing and sign acknowledgement of
the status, and then would maintain their credentials
after their name, with an indication of the retirement
status.
Example:
Jane Smith, ACC/R*
(* = retired). NN
