NCCAP Special Projects Report (May
1, 2003)
By LeNora
Hughes ACC,
Board Member
Assigned
projects developed at the NCCAP fall board meeting, October
2002:
November
2002 - Code of Ethics Revision. In keeping with the NCCAP
strategic plan to annually review the Code of Ethics (to ensure
they meet the current standards of the healthcare industry,
the activity profession, and NCCAP credentialing process), Special
Projects was asked to form a committee to assist in this task.
Letters were sent to Nancy DeBolt, Sandra Dole, and Anne D'Antonio-Nocero,
as well as Dr. Charles Peckham, inviting them to work with the
committee and provide their valued input on any changes they
saw as necessary in the code.
Our task
was to gather suggested changes in the code and develop a draft
for the board to review at the spring board meeting. The committee
received valuable input that was drafted for approval by the
board when they meet at the spring conference in April 2003.
January
2003 - National Activity Professional Week. NCCAP committee
members were recognized during this week with a thank you note
for being an integral part of our organization.
February
2003 - Madge Schweinberg Scholarship. This is a joint
project between NCCAP and NAAP that annually provides two scholarships
of $500 each. Ongoing contact was made with Rachel Dill, NAAP
treasurer and scholarship chair, in regard to the number of
applications to be reviewed by the scholarship committee. Three
applications were received this year.
April 2003
- Recognition of Committee Volunteers. NCCAP is fortunate
in having a team of valuable and dedicated volunteers who continually
work on committee projects and ad hoc tasks as needed. The board
annually thanks its volunteers with a small token of appreciation.
This year, they will receive a gift from the Pacific Northwest.
A special "thank you" to each and every one.
