MEPAP
Education Committee Update 2007
Out
of the 172 NCCAP pre-approved instructors, all but 14
have taken the MEPAP 2nd edition training. Of the remaining
14, 10 are rumored to not be teaching any longer.
The
training has been offered since October 2004 in over
20 locations, with 14 successful trainings to date.
Locations have been offered across the country.
ALL
training participants have been given an evaluative
tool to complete and every response received to date
has been positive.
Each
training has had approximately half current pre-approved
instructors and half new instructors.
22
instructors have now transitioned their courses to the
new format; the deadline for such which has been communicated
to the instructors for the past two and one half years
is 12/31/07. Natalie Davis and Cindy Bradshaw have developed
a "tool" to assist with transition, as well
as the instructor page is being developed to assist
with this process. **ALL the necessary tools are given
out in the 17-hour required training, and the newer
instructors are finding it easier to develop their courses
versus the "the way it has always been" current
instructors in some cases.
The
education committee has now met with the assistance
of Joy Cornelius, Janet Turner, Natalie and others,
and now all the materials will be redone to eliminate
any/all of the old terminology and transition it to
the new terminology. ALL the pre-approved instructors
will receive a copy of such, as well as the new "forms"
section developed by Cindy Bradshaw to assist in beginning
a MEPAP course. NN
