NCCAP
Vice President's Report
2006
- 2007
By Deborah D. Bailey, ACC
In
addition to promoting awareness about the importance
of certification, I have endeavored to be prepared to
reply when called upon to respond on NCCAP issues. I
have submitted articles in a timely manner for the NCCAP
newsletter and have also endeavored to speak about certification
when invited to do so. I was a presenter at the Colorado
Activity Professionals' Association's annual conference
in June 2006. I was also invited to be on the Activity
Professionals' Training Board at Arapahoe Community
College in Littleton, CO to provide input as needed
regarding training for activity professionals. In that
capacity, I have had the opportunity to be a representative
for NCCAP and to increase exposure to administrators
at Arapahoe Community College. I have also been a guest
presenter in the college classroom. Continuing to step
forward as an educator, I have been invited to again
be a presenter at the annual conference in Sterling,
CO in June 2007.
I
initiated a project, which also included an invitation
for others to join in and work toward developing. Details
about the initiative are included in an article in the
NCCAP winter newsletter. It was a challenge to other
states to develop lists of health care communities for
the NCCAP office to use for targeted mailings. This
would be a good project for state representatives to
tackle. For the state of Colorado, I have been successful
in developing a mailing list, formatted in label form,
now available for the NCCAP office, for future use.
The
responsibility of the Vice President is to serve on
the Personnel Committee, the Finance Committee, and
to review the Strategic Plan. In coordination with the
Executive Director, the results of the Strategic Plan
review will be presented at the April 2007 Board meeting.
I presented the Executive Director's performance evaluation
in a timely fashion and responsibly reviewed budget
issues presented to me by the Treasurer. NN
