BEC and AMC Overhaul
Re-engineering
begins on core coursesCindy
Bradshaw, ACC
NCCAP Administrator
NCCAP has begun the
re-engineering of the Modular Education
Program for Activity Professional
Training (the original name given to the
90 hour BEC and AMC). Anne DAntonio
Nocero, ACC will be coordinating the
process for NCCAP. This will include;
revising the training manuals, the
training (train the trainer), the
curriculum outline and the pre-approval
process for instructors. Currently an
individual can apply for a pre-approval
number if they meet the following
criteria:
- Having a BS or
higher and/or an ACC with NCCAP
- Having current
activity experience
- Having experience
teaching adults
- Attendance at a
training on utilizing the current
manuals.
(The process also includes
completing the application, submitting
the necessary fee(s) and submitting all
the supportive documentation).
At this time, NCCAP lists on
its web site, all the instructors of 90
hour courses that have provided our
association with the information - noting
that not all the instructors listed are
pre-approved. In the future NCCAP will
only be listing those instructors that
meet the established criteria. For a
current list of instructors visit our Web
site at www.nccap.org. Please remember
that courses taught by instructors that
are not pre-approved can be utilized for
the continuing education component of
certification only.
Current pre-approved
instructors will be receiving a
questionnaire in the mail requesting
their input into several aspects of the
training process. This data will be
collected and committees will be formed
to begin the next phase of the
re-engineering process.
NCCAP will be providing
training in conjunction with the upcoming
NAAP conference to be held in Burlington,
VT in April 2001. Be looking for more
information in future newsletters. NN
