Statistically speaking, the
National Certification Council for
Activity Pro-fessionals (NCCAP)
represents approximately 6,500
individuals around the country. These
individuals have met standards set forth
over the past fifteen years including
academic education, activity experience
and continuing education. Currently
approximately 40 percent of certified
individuals have a bachelors degree or
higher. The top five states represented
by certified activity professionals
include Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, New
Jersey and Massachusetts.
Each of you should encourage
activity professionals from your state to
take a look at and utilize the benefits
found on the NCCAP Web site or to contact
the office for information about getting
certified. One responsibility of
NCCAPs new Administrator will be to
speak to governmental agencies in order
to market and get the word out about the
National Certification Council for
Activity Professionals. It is the goal of
the organization to have NCCAP
certification included by HCFA and as
many states as possible in their
regulatory process. Lets continue
to stand tall and be counted as a
nationally certified activity
professional. NN
