Advanced Technology
Committee Developedby
John Collins, ACC
NCCAP Vice President
The National Certification
Council for Activity Professionals
(NCCAP) has established an Advanced
Technology Committee to review
Pre-Approval Requests for Continuing
Education related to advanced technology.
The Advanced Technology Committee will
address the emerging continuing education
format that activity professionals have
available to them now and in the near
future. This technology includes videos,
teleconferencing, telecommunications,
compressed videos, Internet, and other
advanced technological resources.
Due to the tremendous amount
of advanced technology available in
todays market, NCCAP felt it necessary to
remain current that some form of advanced
technology needed to be accepted. The
Advanced Technology Committee will review
all requests for Pre-Approval to
determine only the number of hours that
the educational materials takes to
complete.
The Pre-Approval will be
determined based on this review by three
reviewers.
Just because an advanced
technology course/continuing education
program has an NCCAP Pre-Approval number
does not mean that the quality of the
program has been reviewed. All advanced
technology courses/continuing education
would require participants to complete
some form of testing materials and work
to verify that the participant has
completed the advanced technology
course/continuing education program. Any
course/continuing education program that
falls under the Advanced Technology
heading must have a pre-approval number
to be accepted. This committee is one way
NCCAP is trying to stay current with
modern technology to help certified
members receive continuing education in
an advanced technological method in the
parameters of their job or at home.
If you are interested in
serving on this committee, please contact
