Engagement Certifications

NCCAP Engagement Certifications are designed to support all care providers, frontline and direct support staff, and family caregivers with the knowledge and skills for person-centered care. Engagement Certifications may be used to meet facility-wide education, training, and in-service requirements as well as for proof of competency for Regulators. 

All Engagement Certifications are valid for 1 year and must be renewed with 5 CE clock hours.

Qualifying Components

  1. Education: High School, GED or higher.
  2. Activity Experience: 1,000 hours of experience in related care within the past 5 years.
  3. Continuing Education (CE): For renewal only, 5 clock hours from the Body of Knowledge (page 15 in NCCAP Standards).
  4. Required Curriculum: Successful completion of "From Can't To Can Do!

Applying for Engagement Certification Steps:

Note: Forms and steps must be completed in a continuous sequence. It is necessary to finish all steps to enroll in the desired Engagement Course.

  1. Select your preferred Engagement Course Instructor on our Course page using the blue button labeled "Engagement Course Sign Up" down below or by clicking here.
  2. Complete the class enrollment page form and submit the $169 fee.
    *Fee includes first year of certification 
  3. Complete the Initial Engagement Certification Application form.
    *Please have all supporting documents scanned as a PDF file and ready to attach to the online application
  4. Complete Engagement Course Pre-Assessment test.
    *Login using your Legal Full Name
  5. Once you are completed with your Pre-Assessment test, please read the confirmation passage and continue to your student page. 
  6. From the day of the Engagement course completion, it can take up to 4 business weeks to receive your Engagement Certification. 
    *You will receive a high-quality printable certificate by email. 

RENEWAL STEPS: 

  1. Click on the blue button labeled "Engagement Renewal" down below.
  2. Have 5 CE Clock Hours scanned as a PDF file and ready to attach to the online application.
  3. Submit a $30 renewal fee via credit card at the end of the application. 
    *we will not receive any application unless payment has been made
  4. Allow up to 4 weeks for the completion of the renewal process and to receive your Engagement Certification. 
    *You will receive a high-quality printable certification by email.
