Director of Resident Services at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury, oversees the social work, activities, music therapy, beauty salon, resident concierge, gift shop, front desk, transportation creative arts, liason for the Resale Shop and volunteer departments.  Donielle is a member of the IDIC committee and leads the Diversity committee.  She is also the Advisory Committee Chair member for the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging.  Donielle has presented alongside Virginia Leading Age, Pioneer Network and Linked Senior.  Donielle has worked as a social worker for 8 years, nursing home administrator for 2 years and now the Director for 8 years.  Her nursing home administrator’s license is current and she is currently a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional.  She has received her Graduate Certificate from VCU in aging studies along with her certificate in Foundations in Longevity and Aging.

As a Licensed Instructor, she is qualified to deliver the standardized curriculum for Activity Director Certification (ADC).

For over 30 years, NCCAP certification has been accepted for meeting the highest standard of CMS F680 and is the only certification accepted by NAAP for meeting the Professional Standards of Practice to be an Activity Professional.

The standardized curriculum is infused with the person-centered principles of the Pioneer Network as well as the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. It is reviewed and updated regularly by an independent Clinical and Curriculum Advisory Board of geriatric experts and long-term care practitioners.

Like all Allied Healthcare credentials, NCCAP certification is based on a formal course of study, the standardized curriculum, and an independent final exam. NCCAP certification ensures you are competent to deliver person-centered care and life-enriching activity programs to enhance physical, cognitive and psychosocial well-being.
