Julie Echon, MA, BS, ADC/ACC, CDP, CADDCT, MDEC, CALA

“Let’s begin with the end in mind”, a cliché you will always hear from Julie but this guided her in her journey in the Activity Profession.

Julie is a B.S. Psychology graduate of Far Eastern University and had her Master of Industrial Relations with Specialization on Human Resource Development from the University of the Philippines. She has other certifications, but behind all of these, Julie is just an advocate that would like to share her passion and expertise in the Activity Profession and Dementia Care.

For two decades, he was a trainer on a variety of programs from Capability Building, Enterprise Development, Gender & Development, Mediation & Conciliation, Monitoring & Evaluation and Marketing in the Philippines. Add with more than a decade of hands on experience in different capacities in the healthcare industry in New Jersey, Julie is now, an instructor, mentor, consultant or simply say, still a teacher by heart.

As a teacher, she believed in continuing education towards the realization of one’s self-actualization, and this Modular Education Program for Activity Professionals (MEPAP) is a step towards that final level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.

Currently, Julie is an Activity Professional and Dementia Capable Care Program Coordinator, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer, Admin Consultant in three Adult Medical Day Care Centers in NJ, and an NJAPA Board Member. Her goal, is to bring this level of skill and experience also to other states and her country Philippines.

So much to learn and to share, Julie is so excited to be part of this journey, that “end in mind” of yours, in this amazing world of the Activity Profession.

As a Licensed Instructor, I am qualified to deliver the standardized curriculum the for Activity Director Certification (ADC.)

For over 30 years, NCCAP certification has been accepted for meeting the highest standard of CMS F680 and is the only certification accepted by NAAP for meeting the Professional Standards of Practice to be an Activity Professional.

The standardized curriculum is infused with the person-centered principles of the Pioneer Network as well as the Alzheimer’s Association Dementia Care Practice Recommendations. It is reviewed and updated regularly by an independent Clinical and Curriculum Advisory Board of geriatric experts and long-term care practitioners.

Like all Allied Healthcare credentials, NCCAP certification is based on a formal course of study, the standardized curriculum, and an independent final exam. NCCAP certification ensures you are competent to deliver person-centered care and life-enriching activity programs to enhance physical, cognitive and psychosocial well-being.
