The Great Value of Being a Member of NAAP!

Since 1982, the National Association of Activity Professionals (NAAP) has championed the education, advocacy and resource needs for Activity Professionals working across long-term care setting. NAAP is authorized by CMS to establish the Professional Standards of Practice for the Activity Profession. As such, NAAP only supports NCCAP Certification as meeting our Professional Standards of Practice.

In 1986, NAAP created the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP) as the sole credential for Activity Professional Certification in response to the Federal requirements of the Omnibus Budget and Reconciliation Act (OBRA '87). Since 1986, NCCAP has been recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for meeting the highest standard of qualification for life enrichment and activities.

For only $85 annually, NAAP members receive:

  • Twice-monthly CE webinars and access to our online education library. All E-Learning sessions are pre-approved by NCCAP and will allow you to meet your annual CE requirements.
  • 24-hour NAAP helpline available for professional support.
  • Weekly broadcasts filled with articles of interest and industry updates.
  • The Activity Toolbox filled with activity related in-services, articles of interest, programming ideas, and the most current information regarding regulatory and government issues.
  • Annual National Conferences specifically targeted to the needs of busy Activity Professionals with a discount registration. These in-person education opportunities can provide up to 20 hours of pre-approved continuing education through NCCAP.
  • Monthly Activity Programming ideas including how-to-guides.
  • Advice and support about National Activity Professional certification and credentialing.
