As Director of Operations for NCCAP, Connie Kaufusi plays a central role in overseeing the daily operations, organizational coordination, and strategic initiatives that help keep the organization running efficiently and effectively nationwide. Since joining NCCAP in May 2017, Connie has become an integral part of the organization’s growth, modernization, and long-term operational development.

Beginning her journey with NCCAP as a Receptionist, Connie steadily advanced through multiple organizational roles including Administrative Assistant and Data Administrator before ultimately becoming Director of Operations. Her progression within the organization reflects her strong work ethic, leadership, adaptability, and commitment to supporting both the professionals NCCAP serves and the continued advancement of the organization itself.

Today, Connie manages and supports many of the operational systems and administrative functions that serve as the foundation of NCCAP’s daily activities. From organizational coordination and member communications to certification operations and internal workflow management, her leadership helps ensure the organization continues operating smoothly while supporting activity professionals nationwide.

Connie has also played an important role in helping guide NCCAP into a new era of accessibility, innovation, and professional growth. She has contributed to the launch and expansion of online and on-demand educational opportunities designed to provide greater flexibility and accessibility for professionals seeking certification and continuing education.

In addition to operational leadership, Connie actively works to strengthen relationships with healthcare organizations, professional associations, and industry leaders to help build collaborative partnerships that support NCCAP’s mission, outreach efforts, and future development.

Her focus on organizational growth, modernization, and professional collaboration continues to help position NCCAP for long-term success within the evolving healthcare and senior living landscape.

A Foundation Built Through Service

Connie proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River prior to completing her military service in 2017. Her military background helped shape the discipline, resilience, professionalism, and leadership skills that continue to guide her work ethic and operational leadership style today.

The values developed through military service continue to influence her commitment to teamwork, accountability, and supporting others both professionally and personally.

Advancing Education and Lifelong Learning

Dedicated to continued growth and professional development, Connie earned her Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a minor in Small Business and Nonprofit Management through the American Public University System/American Military University. She is set to begin pursuing her Master of Business Administration through California Baptist University with a concentration in Business Analytics and Data.

Her educational background supports her passion for organizational strategy, operational leadership, innovation, and building systems that improve both organizational effectiveness and member engagement.

Beyond her professional responsibilities, Connie remains actively involved in her community through volunteer service and athletics. She has coached both adult and youth sports programs, helping encourage teamwork, discipline, leadership, and personal growth among athletes of all ages.

As a military spouse and mother of three, Connie understands the importance of resilience, compassion, patience, and building strong support systems within both families and professional communities. Her experiences continue to strengthen her passion for nurturing others, supporting growth, and creating meaningful connections through service and leadership.
