For more than three decades, Dawn Worsley has dedicated her career to transforming the long-term care experience through compassionate leadership, resident-centered innovation, dementia education, and a steadfast commitment to enhancing quality of life. From her beginnings as an Activities Director to her current role as Executive Director and Nursing Home Administrator, Dawn's work has been guided by a simple yet powerful belief: every older adult deserves purpose, dignity, meaningful engagement, and exceptional care.

Executive Leadership

Dawn currently serves as the Executive Director/Nursing Home Administrator at FutureCare Cherrywood, where she is recognized for her commitment to resident-centered care, team development, quality outcomes, and regulatory excellence.

Activities and Life Enrichment Expertise

Before becoming a Nursing Home Administrator, Dawn spent more than 20 years as a Director of Activities in a variety of nursing home settings. During that time, she developed award-winning therapeutic recreation and life enrichment programs focused on dignity, engagement, purpose, and meaningful human connection. Her extensive background in activities and resident programming continues to shape her holistic approach to leadership and care today.

Consulting and Education

Dawn is the owner of Dawn On The Horizon, an education and consulting company specializing in long-term care training, dementia education, leadership development, and quality-of-life programming. Through her consulting work, she has become a nationally recognized speaker, presenting at healthcare conferences across the country on topics including dementia care, culture change, life enrichment, staff engagement, and person-centered programming.

Professional Certifications and Service

Dawn earned her Activity Consultant Certification through NCCAP and served as a national trainer for activity professionals. She has also served on the NCCAP Board of Directors and continues to contribute to the organization through her involvement on numerous committees, helping advance professional standards and education within the field.

Author and Published Educator

An accomplished author and educator, Dawn has co-authored more than seven books designed to support family caregivers as they navigate the challenges of aging and dementia care. She is also the co-author of The Art of Life Enrichment, a resource dedicated to improving quality of life for older adults through purposeful programming and compassionate engagement.

Dementia Care Leadership

Further demonstrating her commitment to dementia education, Dawn serves as a national trainer for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), educating healthcare professionals nationwide on best practices in dementia care, communication techniques, behavioral support, and person-centered approaches.
